2011 looks set to be another successful year for the regional marine industry as seven boats and numerous luxury cars were sold at Phuket International Boat Show (PIMEX). Transactions at the show exceeded USD $17 million with more expected post-PIMEX (approx THB510 million).
The 2011 Phuket International Boat Show (PIMEX) opened today to a packed in-water display and Exhibition Hall. 47 boats fill the marina basin, an increase of more than 25% on last year, and the Exhibition Hall is packed with marine products, luxury cars and high-end real estate.
PIMEX 2011 is set to be the biggest on record. While visitors are expected to number 6,000 plus, the number of exhibitors have already exceeded those in previous years and organisers see this as a good sign for the regional marine industry at large.
Overmarine Shipyard, well known in the Marine Industry as Owner of the Brand Name Mangusta and Builder of the biggest Large Open in the market, will be attending the PIMEX 2011, Phuket Yacht Show that will be held in the Royal Phuket Marina Exhibition & Conference Center.
Riva – the boat brand favoured by celebrities such as Brigitte Bardot, Liz Taylor, Claudia Schiffer and George Clooney – will exhibit at PIMEX for the first time by recently appointed dealer Lee Marine.
