Pendennis and Devonport continue to thrive with an increasing number of enquiries for refits at the joint facilities in Falmouth. Pendennis boasts 20+ years experience and over 150 refit projects in the portfolio, and along with Devonport’s expertise in the 60m+ market, the companies have joined forces to expand the offering at Pendennis’ base in the UK. As such they are co-exhibiting at the 2011 Antibes Yacht Show that runs from the 7th-10th April, during which a dedicated team will be on hand to discuss all refit needs.
Following on from Devonport’s partnership with Pendennis Shipyard in early 2010 the company’s identity has continued to develop. With a reputation as leaders in complex engineering solutions and technologically advanced yachts the Devonport brand has aligned itself with the digital age. Alongside the redevelopment of the website, a new e- newsletter has been launched and even the business cards are going digital!
Pendennis Shipyard is pleased to announce that MY Illusion has been shortlisted as a finalist in the 2010 World Superyacht Awards for her refit and stern extension works that were completed at Pendennis in June last year.
Pendennis hosted its annual awards afternoon in recognition of the significant achievements of its apprentices. The Pendennis Annual Apprentice Awards saw 50 certificates presented, which included NVQs Level 2 and 3, City and Guilds Technical certificates and RYA sailing qualifications handed out by George Moore, commodore of Pendennis shipyard’s sailing club.

Tom Clegg from Pendennis has been awarded winner of the Queens Silver Medal by the Worshipful Company of Shipwrights as the Shipyard Apprentice of the Year 2010. This is one of the country’s most prestigious apprentice awards and has been presented to representatives from the ship building industry since 1945.
