Following this year’s America’s Cup in San Francisco, San Diego-based Marine Group Boat Works is seeing a historic number of superyachts in its facilities, as well as a sister marina, Fifth Avenue Landing.
Measuring 59 meters in length, superyacht Meteora concept is the latest design, penned by Claydon Reeves for Pendennis. The concept takes inspiration from automotive design, and in particular, American muscle cars.
Beautifully refitted by Pendennis in 2012, the 1983 Feadship superyacht A2 (ex Masquerade of Sole) has been honoured with the 2013 ISS Award in the ‘Best Refit Yacht’ category.
Having lasted 5 hours and mainly in darkness, the re-stepping of the luxury yacht M5’s impressive 89m mast, managed by Marine Results, took place at Pendennis on last Saturday, October 19, 2013. Pendennis in Falmouth, UK, has recently welcomed its 1999 sailing yacht Rebecca for a winter refit. Penned by German Frers, this iconic ketch will remain in the yard until April 2014.
