As part of her Diamond Jubilee Tour, HM The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh visited Cowes on July 25 aboard Sir Donald Gosling’s 75m charter yacht Leander. Built by Peenewerft and designed by Kusch Yachts, this exceptional vessel sleeps 12 charter guests in 10 beautiful and comfortable cabins, while cruising the popular Mediterranean.
It was a great success for the 27m sailing yacht Bequia, designed by Stephens Waring Yacht Design as their first superyacht, at the 2012 Pendennis Cup. A traditionally constructed yawl, this spendid vessel is now expected to cruise in Sweden and Mallorca, before starting a summer season of racing next year.
Five meters longer in length, the 47m motor yacht A2, previously known as Masquerade of Sole, has been successfully re-launched at Pendennis yard in Falmouth. Built by Feadship in 1983, this exceptional vessel now provides modern and comfortable cabins for a total number of 10 guests.
This year’s Pendennis Cup in Falmouth was concluded with the overall victory of the superyacht Mariette and Firebrand yacht, taking the leading positions in their classes. Firebrand is owned by the renowned yacht designer Ed Dubois, participating in the race.
Among the jewels currently anchored at the fabulous marina Dennis Conner’s North Cove in NYC belong luxury yacht Slojo, superyacht Endless Summer (ex Bravo Papa, Emanuel) as well as charter yacht Boo Too.
The spectacular sailing catamaran Hemisphere, built by the prestigious UK shipyard Pendennis, with interior design by Michael Leach and Naval Architecture by VPLP, has won two important awards at the 2012 ShowBoats Design Awards. Hemisphere is a joint winner of the Sailing Yacht Interior Design as well as Interior Layout category.
A list of thirteen sailing yacht entries has been confirmed to take part in the 2012 Pendennis Cup due to start on at 11:30 am on Tuesday 4th July.
With last year’s participation of such outstanding UK-based luxury yacht builders as Sunseeker, Fairline, Princess, Pendennis and many others, the 2012 Shipwrights Lecture was confirmed for October 17.
Boasting great success, the Pendennis Palma refit facility is currently busy with two refits, comprising the superyacht Tugatsu and the luxury charter yacht Nostromo. This winter, the successful company is also believed to begin works on the catamaran yacht Hemisphere.
Not long before the J-Class Regatta as well as the Pendennis Cup, the respected UK builder Pendennis is busy with three short refits, including the classic luxury yacht Mariette, the superyacht Bystander and the J-Class sailing yacht Velsheda.
The 1972 motor yacht Heavenly Daze, originally built by Feadship has been successfully refitted by Pendennis, with focus on interior restyling by Wetzels Brown. She is now due to embark on her charter season in the Mediterranean.
