The full 11 minutes long Pendennis Cup film has been released by the respected UK manufacturer, Pendennis. The overall winners of this year’s regatta have become sailing yacht Mariette in Class 2 and luxury yacht Firebrand in Class 3.
Re-launched earlier this month, the magnificent superyacht Gloria by Jongert has successfully completed her 3-month refit at the Pendennis shipyard in Falmouth.
Royal Huisman luxury yacht Unfurled has been very successful in this year’s regattas, including the Pendennis Cup, taking second place, as well as the Superyacht Cup in Cowes, winning the third place. This beautiful, 34-metre sloop is designed by German Frers and was launched in 2000.
It was a great success for the 27m sailing yacht Bequia, designed by Stephens Waring Yacht Design as their first superyacht, at the 2012 Pendennis Cup. A traditionally constructed yawl, this spendid vessel is now expected to cruise in Sweden and Mallorca, before starting a summer season of racing next year.
This year’s Pendennis Cup in Falmouth was concluded with the overall victory of the superyacht Mariette and Firebrand yacht, taking the leading positions in their classes. Firebrand is owned by the renowned yacht designer Ed Dubois, participating in the race.
This year’s Pendennis Cup officially ended on Saturday 7 July, with a spectacular ceremony, unveiling the overall winners. Class 2 has been won by superyacht Mariette, while Class 3 by sailing yacht Firebrand.
It was a great success for Ed Dubois, racing in this year’s Pendennis Cup aboard superyacht Firebrand. He won in his class, competing with such beautiful vessels as Mikado superyacht as well as sailing yacht Tomahawk.
Racing Day 2 of the 3rd Pendennis Cup saw much lighter as well as changeable winds. At the moment, superyacht Unfurled leads in Class 2, while the overall winner in Class 3 is currently Firebrand yacht.
A closely fought battle was seen on the water during the first day of racing at the 2012 Pendennis Cup, with luxury yacht Mariette of 1915 taking the top position in Class 2, The Pendennis Cup Class, while Mikado yacht is currently leading in Class 3, The Little Dennis Classic Class.
At the moment, the 2005 luxury sailing yacht Velacarina by Claasen Jachtbouw is getting ready for this year’s Pendennis Cup, held from July 2 to 7. Designed by well known Andre Hoek, Velacarina is a Truly Classic vessel, boasting beautiful interior made of wood.
Lewmar will be present at this year’s superyacht regattas, including the J Class Regatta as well as the Pendennis Cup. Four spectacular vessels competing in the J Class Regatta, such as luxury charter yacht Ranger and others will be fitted with Lewmar equipment, while the company will act as one of the sponsors in the Pendennis Cup.
