Ocean Signal launches Ocean Signal America

Ocean Signal, the UK manufacturer of marine communication and safety products, which include EPIRBs, SARTs and VHF radios, will open its own US sales operation this month as Ocean Signal America. The new company, headed up by CEO Talbot Pratt, will be based in Newburyport, MA and will share facilities with Digital Yacht and Digital Deep Sea which manufacture a complementary range of marine electronic products including AIS, chart plotters and marine PCs, for both commercial and leisure markets.

Gordon Houser Honored with first Neptune Lifetime Achievement Award

Gordon Houser, a marine marketing veteran who helped transform yachting into recreational boating by making the sport more appealing to millions of middle-class Americans, will be honored Feb. 17 during the Miami International Boat Show by Marine Marketers of America (MMA) with its first Neptune Award for Lifetime Achievement.
