Luxury sailing yacht Esimit Europa 2 is currently getting ready to participate in the 2012 Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup, kicking off in Sardinia’s Porto Cervo on September 2. She will do her best to beat the 2003 record, set by the luxury yacht Nariida.
Running from September 2 to 8, the 2012 Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup is to kick off in less than one month. This year’s 23rd edition will be marked by the competitive premiere of the 164ft sailing yacht Better Place as well as the 216ft superyacht Hetairos.
The fabulous Porto Cervo Marina in Sardinia will welcome the spectacular sailing yachts competing in the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup from September 2 to 8. This popular event has already hosted such sailing legends as Niklas Zennström, Larry Ellison, Leonardo Ferragamo, Sir Lindsay Owen-Jones as well as Marco Tronchetti Provera.
The largest fleet of performance yachts over 24 metres – the Wally Class – has confirmed the final racing calendar for the 2012 season. In addition to this calendar, Wallys also competitively race in other renowned regattas against yachts of other types: a strong performance was seen in March in the British Virgin Islands, with the Wally 101 sailing yacht Indio winning the Loro Piana Caribbean Superyacht Regatta and Rendezvous at the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda Virgin Gorda.
