5th P130 Motor yacht Angara to be delivered by Horizon

Classic Sailing Yacht Atlantic’s Summer Charter Schedule

Ed Kastelein is proud and pleased to announce that his Atlantic yacht has been selected as finalist for the 2011 World Superyacht Awards. An impressive 100 superyachts were nominated for an award and from all these exceptional yachts the sailing yacht Atlantic emerged as one of the finalists in the category “Best Sailing Yacht in 45m+ size range”. The 56.39m (185′) classic yacht Atlantic will be in the dry-dock for a fresh coat of Antifouling in April and then she will head off to sail her first full season.

Palumbo acquires Malta Superyacht Shipyard

Palumbo Shipyard, an Italian company headquartered in Naples, signed a 30 year deal with the Malta government for the acquisition of Malta Super Yacht Services (MSYS) now called Palumbo Malta Shipyard. Palumbo Group has taken over the yard this week, after having been declared the preferred bidder for the tender to acquire Malta Superyacht Services in late 2010.

While two years ago the theme was ‘The Superyacht Industry’, this year the forum focuses more on the Malta yachting scenario while underlining the demanding requisites of superyachts.

Rolex Middle Sea Race: Valletta hosts prize giving

The ancient fortress city of Valletta, the former 16th century “Sacra Infermeria” of the Order of St John of Jerusalem, was host to the prize giving and close to 800 guests for the 31st edition of the Rolex Middle Sea Race.

If the early miles of the Rolex Middle Sea Race Valletta, Malta, were a test of patience, the latter miles were a true test of endurance. A strong mistral of up to 40+ knots helped push the fleet homeward to the finish in Malta.
