Sailing yacht Manitou could be described as the vessel encapsulating the fabled allure of the 2012 Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez taking place on the southern coast of France these days.
Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez represents a great passion for sailing and for vintage yachts, in particular. The total number of 55 yachts belonging to the 114-strong Tradition division are eligible for the Rolex Trophy. The oldest is sailing yacht Marigold, designed by Charles E. Nicholson.

Around 300 luxury yachts will start the 14th edition of Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez today. This popular race will last untill Sunday, October 7.
Running from September 29 to October 7, this year’s Les Voiles de St Tropez will bring five days of exciting racing for modern yachts, while the classic yachts compete over four days. With a limit of 300 entries, the race is open for both modern as well as traditional yachts over 9 meters in length.
The largest fleet of performance yachts over 24 metres – the Wally Class – has confirmed the final racing calendar for the 2012 season. In addition to this calendar, Wallys also competitively race in other renowned regattas against yachts of other types: a strong performance was seen in March in the British Virgin Islands, with the Wally 101 sailing yacht Indio winning the Loro Piana Caribbean Superyacht Regatta and Rendezvous at the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda Virgin Gorda.
Yacht Team Magic Carpet2 takes the first place in the individual FT Wally Grand Prix regatta and the overall series for 2011, as well.
