Yesterday, September 3, 2014, was marked by Day 3 of the currently running Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup. In the Supermaxi Class, luxury yacht Firefly leads, going into the second half of the competition, but only by one point from Inoui yacht.
This year’s Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup is set to kick off in the lovely Sardinia yacht holiday location – Porto Cervo today, on September 1. The largest vessel to attend will be the 43,7m (143′) J Class superyacht Lionheart.
To be hosted by the lovely Sardinia yacht holiday destination – Porto Cervo from August 31 to September 6, this year’s Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup will kick off in less than two months. The popular Mediterranean regatta will be attended by such outstanding vessels as 100ft superyacht Esimit Europa 2 and the 216ft mega yacht Hetairos.
The recently concluded Voiles de Saint-Tropez 2013 was a great success. The event hosted 4,000 sailors and 300 Classic as well as Modern yachts, providing them with ideal sailing conditions.
Representing the pinnacle rendezvous of the annual Maxi yacht racing calendar, the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup continues to set the high standards, being attended by the finest sailors, most passionate owners, and beautiful yachts.
The winners of the final day at the 2013 Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup were: Sailing yacht Rán 2 (GBR) in the Mini Maxi Rolex World Championship with a bullet and a second; superyacht Velsheda in J-Class; luxury yacht Morning Glory in Maxi Racing; charter yacht Nefertiti in Maxi Racing/Cruising; superyacht Nilaya in Supermaxi; and, luxury yacht Open Season in Wally.
The winners of Racing Day 5 of the currently running Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup were: sailing yacht Rán 2 in the Mini Maxi Rolex World Championship; superyacht Rainbow in J-Class; luxury yacht Aegir in Maxi Racing; sailing yacht Altair in Maxi Racing/Cruising; superyacht Firefly in Supermaxi; and, J-One yacht in Wally.
Day 4 winners of the 2013 Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup have become Bella Mente yacht with a second and a third in the Mini Maxi Rolex World Championship; superyacht Rainbow in J-Class; luxury yacht Morning Glory in Maxi Racing; Altair yacht in Maxi Racing/Cruising; Nilaya superyacht in Supermaxi; and, J-One yacht with a first and a third in Wally.
Light conditions continue to characterize the currently running Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup. Today’s winners were: Shockwave yacht with a first and a third in the Mini Maxi Rolex World Championship; superyacht Velsheda in J-Class; luxury yacht Highland Fling in Maxi Racing; Altair yacht in Maxi Racing/Cruising; Nilaya superyacht in Supermaxi while J-One yacht and Magic Carpet 3 yacht both scored a win and a second in Wally.
