The recently concluded 70th Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race has been marked by a huge success of McConaghy-built vessels. Bob Oatley’s Reichel/Pugh 100 sailing yacht Wild Oats XI has won line honours for 8th time, while Farr 43 yacht Wild Rose has become the overall winner of the race on corrected time.
This year’s Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race, an iconic sporting event, is set to start next month, hosting 97 yachts, including 22 international entrants. The event will be once again attended by the 100-foot Maxi yacht Wild Oats XI.
This year’s edition of the popular Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race will start on December 26. The last year’s event was marked by an exciting battle between sailing yacht Wild Oats XI and superyacht Investec Loyal.
Friday 24 August at Audi Hamilton Island Race Week 2012 will once again see the Prix d’Elegance event, with focus on pure entertainment and the only necessity to dress up the crew as well as the yacht.
