The 40th International Rolex Regatta was running in the popular yacht charter location – St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands from March 21 to 24. The Baltic 78 charter yacht Lupa of London won all six of the weekend’s races in the IRC division.
To be once again hosted by the prestigious St. Thomas Yacht Club, the 40th anniversary edition of International Rolex Regatta is set to start tomorrow, on Thrusday, 21 March. The event will be attended by 70 luxury yachts.
Today is the last day of the International Rolex Regatta 2012, which kicked off on Friday and hosted 68 yachts as well as more than 500 sailors.
A second day of racing for 68 yachts at the International Rolex Regatta 2012 showcased the coastal beauty of St. Thomas and St. John islands with IRC as well as CSA distance courses.
The three-day International Rolex Regatta started on Saturday, March 24 with “town races”.
The 39th International Rolex Regatta starts today with the next three days of racing. Spectators will get a treat today when all classes sail to Charlotte Amalie Harbor for their first race, then return to St. Thomas Yacht Club for their second
Preparations for the St. Thomas Yacht Club’s 39th annual International Rolex Regatta are well underway. The oldest regatta in Rolex’s yachting portfolio and most venerable of Caribbean spring events begins on March 23.
Rolex have issued a Calendar Announcement for 2011 detailing the dates and locations of the Rolex U.S. and Caribbean Sailing Events during 2011.
Hundreds of sailors head to the Caribbean each year to compete in the St. Thomas Yacht Club’s International Rolex Regatta, and this year, from March 25-27, the three-day event will prove once again–for the 38th time, in fact–that its unique blend of island-style hospitality, competition and camaraderie is the perfect formula for attracting new talent as well as die-hards devoted to returning year after year.
