Organized by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda and the International Maxi Association (IMA), this year’s Transatlantic Superyacht & Maxi Regatta kicked off yesterday, with participation of such spectacular vessels as the 35m Farr 115 charter yacht Sojana.
On Racing Day 5 of this year’s Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup the weather conditions permitted to start racing in the afternoon, bringing the victory for sailing yacht Rán 2 (GBR), in the Mini Maxi Rolex World Championship; superyacht Esimit Europa 2 (SLO) in Maxi Racing; luxury yacht Aegir (GBR) in Maxi Racing/Cruising; superyacht Nilaya (GBR) in Supermaxi and sailing yacht Magic Carpet 2 (GBR) in the Wally class.
The total number of 34 spectacular maxi yachts have kicked off the 23rd Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup today. These include the largest vessel to compete, the 66m megayacht Hetairos.
The next edition of the RORC Caribbean 600 starts on 18 February 2013. Along with this year’s winner, the 215-foot superyacht Hetairos, the 2013 race will be attended by such spectacular vessels as the 180ft megayacht Adela or the 203ft luxury yacht Athos and many others.
Running from September 2 to 8, the 2012 Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup is to kick off in less than one month. This year’s 23rd edition will be marked by the competitive premiere of the 164ft sailing yacht Better Place as well as the 216ft superyacht Hetairos.

Winners of the 7th edition of the World Superyacht Awards were unveiled on May 5 in Istanbul, Turkey. The Motor Yacht of the Year has become the 77.7m Feadship superyacht Tango, while the Sailing Yacht of the Year award has been received by the 67.2m Alloy megayacht Vertigo.
66.9m luxury sailing yacht HETAIROS by Baltic Yachts, fitted with Ocean Yacht Systems´ hydraulic propulsion system has been nominated as a finalist for the ShowBoat Design and Technology Award 2012. Other finalists in the awards equipped by OYS are: the Yachting Development yacht Antares III, the Perini Navi superyacht Fidelis as well as the Alloy sailing yacht Vertigo.
