Lymington-based Green Marine, one of the world’s leading custom racing and high-performance cruising and superyacht builder specialists, has built and delivered two new contenders for the Audi 2011 TP52 Med Cup Challenge – yachts Rán IV and Container. Both yachts were designed by the renowned Judel Vrolik design office.
The new sailing yacht Container, owned by Udo Schütz from Germany, will debut in the world’s leading monohull class, the TP52 Series on the Audi MedCup in 2011. She will compete with an experienced, professional crew led by Markus Wieser, a European Champion and World Championship runner-up in the Dragon Class. Wieser is also experienced match racer and has frequently sailed in the afterguard aboard TP52s.
As result of strategic support given by the South East England Development Agency (SEEDA), Lymington-based composite yacht builder, Green Marine, is to move its production facilities to Hythe Marine Park.
Green Marine one of the world’s leading specialists in advanced carbon fibre moulding techniques, has completed the build of one of the largest composite rudders ever made. The rudder was designed by Dubois Naval Architects for a 66 metre (216 foot) sloop, which is currently in-build at Vitters Shipyard in the Netherlands.
