November 13 saw the presentation of the format for the Rolex Capri Sailing Week/Volcano Race 2013. It will take place from May 18 to 24, with participation of such beautiful vessels as superyacht Nilaya.
Following the challenging conditions of the Rolex Vulcano Race, taking place from May 19-25 in the Tyrrhenian Sea, twenty competing yachts are now preparing for the 60th edition of the Giraglia Rolex Cup.
The 2nd edition of the Rolex Volcano Race was concluded with the Rolex party and prizegiving at La Canzone del Mare on Friday 25 May, with Sir Peter Ogden’s 60ft Mini Maxi yacht Jethou winning the Rolex Trophy and timepiece as well as the 112ft superyacht Nilaya receiving a Rolex timepiece as a line-honours winner.
At this year’s Rolex Volcano Race, the Swan 80 luxury sailing yacht Berenice Bis won the ‘highest placed Swan’ award, received during the Rolex party at the legendary La Canzone del Mare.
The overall victory in the 2012 Rolex Volcano Race has gone to the 60ft yacht Jethou, followed by the 112ft luxury yacht Nilaya taking second place and the Wally 100 superyacht Y3K placing third.
