Day 2 of the J Class Regatta 2012 in Falmouth finished with a great success for sailing yacht Velsheda, followed by charter yacht Ranger and Lionheart superyacht, respectively.
The first race of the J Class Regatta 2012 in Falmouth started with a delay caused by fog, with luxury charter yacht Ranger, currently taking the first place. She is followed by superyachts Velsheda and Rainbow, respectively.
A list of thirteen sailing yacht entries has been confirmed to take part in the 2012 Pendennis Cup due to start on at 11:30 am on Tuesday 4th July.
Not long before the J-Class Regatta as well as the Pendennis Cup, the respected UK builder Pendennis is busy with three short refits, including the classic luxury yacht Mariette, the superyacht Bystander and the J-Class sailing yacht Velsheda.
The prestigious UK-based shipyard Pendennis has sent through some additional images of the Ron Holland designed 75m superyacht M5 (ex Mirabella V), launched in 2004. She is currently going through a one-year refit at Pedennis.
The 75.2m luxury sailing yacht M5 (ex Mirabella V), originally designed by well known Ron Holland studio, is currently undergoing a one-year refit at Pendennis Plus in Falmouth, including her complete exterior as well as interior upgrade. The refit of her interior is being undertaken by renowned Redman Whiteley Dixon.
The prominent UK-based shipyard Pendennis removed the Ron Holland designed sailing yacht M5 (ex Mirabella 5)´s main mast in advance of her 13 month refit. She boasts the world´s largest mast, measuring 89 metres, destepping of which was coordinated by Marine Results, with the lift needing 4 cranes, 40 staff as well as more than 8 hours to finish the operation.
The Falmouth Regatta will be finally attended only by the four J-Class superyachts and not the six as expected, without the presence of the sailing yacht Hanuman as well as the charter yacht Endeavour. The latter is supposed to race only in the Solent regattas.
The World´s Largest Sailing Yacht MIRABELLA V – now yacht M5, has arrived at Pendennis in Falmouth for a substantial one-year refit.. Her impressive 90m mast is due for removal before the vessel docks down during May.
Luxury yacht builder Pendennis is planning on expanding its superyacht facilities, to cater for larger yacht constructions as well as the refit market.
