Winners of the 2013 ISS Design & Leadership Awards were announced at the 23rd Anniversary of ISS’s Awards Gala in Florida’s Fort Lauderdale, yesterday, on October 30, including such amazing vessels as luxury charter yacht Excellence V by Abeking & Rasmussen.

Qatari shipbuilder, Nakilat Damen Shipyards Qatar (NDSQ), is contracted to construct a new 69m fully customized superyacht support vessel entirely in Qatar. The contract was signed at a ceremony held in Doha, Qatar, on March 19.
The prominent Dutch superyacht manufacturer Amels has recently sold the second SEA AXE 6711 Fast Yacht Support (FYS) vessel. Boasting a unique axe bow as well as underwater body shape, it is scheduled for delivery in spring 2014.
Rediscovery of the wooden yacht building will be the main focus of this year’s HISWA Symposium on Yacht Design and Yacht Construction, taking as example the impressive 141m sailing yacht Dream Symphony, currently in build.
The first Amels SEA AXE 6711 superyacht support vessel Garcon 4 Ace has been recently delivered to its new Owner. This splendid fast support vessel to the 87m Lurssen megayacht ACE offers all the comforts of a superyacht. It will be exhibited at the 2012 Monaco Yacht Show.
To be launched by the Dutch builder Damen Shipyards, the 67m support vessel Garçon is to become a support vessel to the 87m Lurssen megayacht ACE. Currently under sea trials, Garçon is the largest SEA AXE vessel. It will be on display along with its mother ship at the next Monaco Yacht Show.
Co-supported by such prestigious luxury yacht builders as Marin, DAMEN, Royal Huisman as well as Feadship, the 22nd HISWA Symposium is a highly anticipated event, with focus on yacht design and construction of both sailing and motor yachts. This year, it will be held at Amsterdam RAI on November 12-13.
Being a nice example of how the ecological impact of superyachts can be reduced, the 65.5m Amels 212 motor yacht IMAGINE has become the first luxury vessel in the world to receive the ‘Green Passport’ from Lloyds Register.
Constructed by Damen Shipyards in the Netherlands, the prestigious Dutch builder Amels will demonstrate its 67m SEA AXE 6711 Fast Yacht Support vessel GARÇON at the 2012 Monaco Yacht Show. The second SEA AXE 6711 superyacht support vessel FYS is currently in build.
As a part of the expansion strategy with the main aim to reinforce their network of shiprepair yards in Europe, the Damen Shipyards has recently acquired the Swedish shiprepair yard Oskarshamnsvarvet.
Five superyachts by Amels are due to be delivered this spring, including two Amels 180, one of which is the motor yachts Step One and one Amels 212 – the Imagine superyacht, in addition to two extensive refits of existing Amels vessels. Amels has now become the largest superyacht builder in the Netherlands.
