Strong female entry in record breaking Rolex Fastnet Race 2013.
Great sailing conditions continue for the 4th day of the race in Cowes with lovely sunshine, clear waters and a northeasterly breeze of 10-18 knots, pushing yachts around the Central Solent course in great style.
Day 3 of the currently running Panerai British Classic Week in Cowes saw the races two and three of the regatta series, as well as the Ladies Race.
Today, July 8, 2013, marked the first race of the Panerai British Classic Week, which was called off, due to no wind, yesterday.
The opening day of this year’s Panerai British Classic Week was marked by the sunshine and fun, but no wind. The Race Committee had to call off the racing.
The Panerai British Classic Week 2013 is set to kick off on Saturday, July 6. The event will be attended by such spectacular, classic yachts, as the 1929 30-metre superyacht Gluckhauf, built by Abeking & Rasmussen.
This year’s J.P. Morgan Asset Management Round the Island Race will officially start tomorrow, on June 1. Today, May 31, saw the pre-Race press conference at the Island Sailing club in Cowes, UK.
This year’s Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week will be attended by a strong international fleet of sailboats, including such spectacular vessels as the 100ft superyacht Esimit Europa 2.
The upcoming Rolex Fastnet Race is expected to host a record number of 380 yachts this year, including such spectacular vessels as the 100-foot charter yacht ICAP Leopard. The race will kick off on August 11, 2013.
In order to satisfy demand for places, the Royal Ocean Racing Club (RORC) has increased the number of places available for IRC rated boats by an extra 40 places, to 340. To cope with this, the event will be moved to Plymouth Yacht Haven, featuring the extra berthing, if needed.
