Youth charity and maritime training provider UKSA is seeking applications from young people to join its Yachting Cadetship training programme under an assisted funded scheme. Successful maritime candidates will receive funding from Trinity House, the charity which supports the “future leaders of superyachting”, as part of its Professional Yachtsman Bursary Scheme (PYBS).

The J Class yachts VELSHEDA, sailing yacht RANGER and S/Y SHAMROCK V will be participating in the J CLASS NEWPORT REGATTA, the first of a series of global J Class events, culminating in the Hundred Guinea Cup race, Cowes 2012.
Entry for one of the world’s most popular yacht races opened at midnight on Sunday 9 January and by midday Monday, nearly 100 entries had signed up, with an unprecedented number doing so in the early hours of the morning. The trend continued over the next couple of days when the halfway mark of 150 boats was reached for the race which has a maximum entry of 300 boats. Within a week, 250 boats had entered!
The Island Sailing Club (ISC), organisers of the famous J.P. Morgan Asset Management Round the Island Race, has announced that entries for this year’s 80th Anniversary Race will open on Friday January 21st. The Race is taking place on Saturday 25th June with the first start at 0600.
