The Cheoy Lee shipyard in Doumen, China have launched the latest motor yacht in their Bravo Series, hull number 4915. Cheoy Lee Hull number 4915 is a Bravo 95 series that has been customised with an extra fishing cockpit which has extended her overall length to 31.39 metres making her the new flagship of the Bravo Series fleet.
Lloyd’s Register’s teams in China and Korea have established a strong position in terms of ships ordered in 2010 which will be built to Lloyd’s Register class. Lloyd’s Register’s share of 2010 orders is, respectively, 29.6% in China and 28.3% in Korea.* While orders are from traditional areas of strength such as Greece, the continued expansion of ship owning in Asia is also driving demand.
The British Marine Equipment Association (BMEA) is organising a Trade Mission to Vietnamese new build, conversion and yacht repair yards within striking distance of Ho Chi Minh City. BMEA then plan to attend the International Trade Fair in Ho Chi Minh City from Wednesday 9th – Friday 11th March.
Launched in August 2010 by SunreefYachts, the first Sunreef 62 Sailing (hull 33) was successfully delivered to her owner in Hong Kong two months later. Italian superyacht builder Custom Line, part of the Ferretti Group, has signed a sales contract for a 34m (112ft) Ferretti Custom Line 112′ NEXT motor yacht with real estate company Xanadu South China Sea. The Ferretti Custom Line 112′ NEXT superyacht is one of the largest yachts ever to be sold in China.

2010 got off with a great start for Cheoy Lee with selling three new boats in the first quarter including two new builds. The Cheoy Lee yard is at capacity and has also designed five new models in the last year and a half. To facilitate the addition in production, the yard has created additional building space.
Caterpillar Inc. announced today that it will build a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Tianjin, China, to increase its worldwide capacity for large-engine production. Once operational in 2013, the engine facility will become Caterpillar’s third global source for the company’s industry leading 3500 series engines.
Formula Marine has announced that it will supply its first Chinese contract for a 52m yacht with full sailing systems control package of rig and deck gear including winches, tracks, standing and running rigging together with the systems power pack.
