Baltic Yachts have revealed information on a 170ft sailing yacht project which should be delivered in 2014. The Baltic 170’ Sailing yacht project is an approach from judel/vrolijk & co to combine some classic design aesthetics with a more modern hull shape and a deck styling that makes the boat unique.
Nauta Yacht Design was responsible for the general arrangement a and yacht design lines of luxury yacht Nilaya whilst her naval architecture is the work of Reichel Pugh Yacht Design – the two design houses already have a strong collaboration, having worked together historically on the design of high performance cruiser racers. Yacht Nilaya was the inaugural collaboration between Baltic Yachts and Nauta Yacht Design.
Panamax will be a fast performance sailing yacht with the classic appearance and styling of a Bristol Pilot Cutter. This 66.90-meter ketch is expected to launch in 2010 at Baltic Yachts in Finland. Dykstra & Partners (and co designer Reichel/Pugh), are responsible for the Naval Architecture and exterior styling working in close collaboration with the owner and the owner’s project manager Jens Cornelsen. Intensive towing tank and wind tunnel tests have been carried out to increase performance with the largest composite standing rigging to date. Interior designers appointed on this project are Rhoades Young Design.
