Sir Ben Ainslie, one of the best sailors in the UK, has launched his bid to win the America’s Cup. The launch ceremony was attended by the Duchess of Cambridge, a keen sailor herself.
Amendments to the Protocol for the 35th America’s Cup have been recently issued, ahead of the entry period, which is open from June 9 through August 8, 2014.
The Challenger of Record for the 35th America’s Cup has become the Hamilton Island Yacht Club. Its Australian team will represent all challengers in dealings with the defender Oracle Team USA of Golden Gate Yacht Club, San Francisco.
