This year’s Pendennis Cup in Falmouth was concluded with the overall victory of the superyacht Mariette and Firebrand yacht, taking the leading positions in their classes. Firebrand is owned by the renowned yacht designer Ed Dubois, participating in the race.
This year’s Pendennis Cup officially ended on Saturday 7 July, with a spectacular ceremony, unveiling the overall winners. Class 2 has been won by superyacht Mariette, while Class 3 by sailing yacht Firebrand.
Racing Day 2 of the 3rd Pendennis Cup saw much lighter as well as changeable winds. At the moment, superyacht Unfurled leads in Class 2, while the overall winner in Class 3 is currently Firebrand yacht.
A closely fought battle was seen on the water during the first day of racing at the 2012 Pendennis Cup, with luxury yacht Mariette of 1915 taking the top position in Class 2, The Pendennis Cup Class, while Mikado yacht is currently leading in Class 3, The Little Dennis Classic Class.
Lewmar will be present at this year’s superyacht regattas, including the J Class Regatta as well as the Pendennis Cup. Four spectacular vessels competing in the J Class Regatta, such as luxury charter yacht Ranger and others will be fitted with Lewmar equipment, while the company will act as one of the sponsors in the Pendennis Cup.
A list of thirteen sailing yacht entries has been confirmed to take part in the 2012 Pendennis Cup due to start on at 11:30 am on Tuesday 4th July.
Antigua Yacht Club was hosting the prize giving party, where myriad of trophies, medals and prizes for class winners of the 2012 RORC Caribbean Trophy were on display.
