Sad news comes from the superyacht builder Abeking & Rasmussen that Hermann H. Schaedla has died suddenly aged 76 on the 18th April 2011. For more than 50 years, Hermann H. Schaedla steered the fortunes of Abeking & Rasmussen. Under his responsible and intelligent management, the small shipyard in Lemwerder evolved into one of the major, world famous names in the field of superyacht and naval shipbuilding.
Motor yacht Diamond A, a 57,30m (187′ 11″) superyacht built by Abeking & Rasmussen in 1998, suffered breathing problems. Her main stainless steel exhaust had corroded over time and her genset drystacks spilled soot. She needed help. Marine Exhaust Systems’ technical experts cured yacht Diamond A’s troubles with custom units that now have her breathing easy, in a crunch project of less than 6 weeks.
2010 has been a great year for new superyacht launches. Abeking & Rasmussen have launched 60m superyacht Kaiser in Germany. Motor yacht Kaiser known as hull 6482 is expected to be delivered to her owner during the first few months of 2011.
Superyacht Diamond A (ex-Ultima III) the 57,30m (187′ 11″), motor yacht built by Abeking & Rasmussen is available for charter for the first time and will be presented at the upcoming Antigua Yacht Charter Meeting in December.
Yacht Titan was launched in May 2010 by Abeking & Rasmussen of Germany and the superyacht is the third boat in their 78 metre series.
Yacht Eminence is the first yacht launched in the Abeking & Rasmussen 78 metre series. She was an impressive luxury yacht with a unusual and unique beige hull and she was launched in 2008. Motor yacht C2 with a blue hull was launched in 2009 and the second of the Abeking & Rasmussen 78 series.
