Sailing Yacht Wild Oats XI completed the course of the Rolex Sydney Horbart Yacht Race in a record time of 1 day 18 hours, 23 minutes and 12 seconds, taking the sixth line honours victory in eight years.
2012 Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race’s second day demonstrated the larger yachts, especially sailing yacht Wild Oats XI, taking full advantage of the wind direction change to northeast.
The popular sailing regatta, Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race, started in outstanding conditions with the forecasted southerly breeze offering perfect angle for a spinnaker start and run down the harbour.
Set to kick off on December 26 at 13:00 local time, the 68th edition of Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race will be attended by a total number of 79 yachts. These will include the spectacular Wild Oats XI superyacht that has won the race five times.
