BMT Nigel Gee, a subsidiary of the BMT Group, is delighted to confirm that it provided the engineering design services to Derektor Shipyards for the motor yacht CAKEWALK. Launched this summer by Derecktor Shipyards, megayacht CAKEWALK measured 85.6 meters (281 ft), the largest motor yacht, by volume, ever built in the US.

BMT Nigel Gee provided extensive detailed engineering design services to this stunning Tim Heywood design. Utilising ShipConstructor for production engineering, full structural, mechanical and pipe spool-piece information was delivered to meet Derecktors exacting yard standards. BMT’s scope of work extended to: outfit design and engineering, global structural finite element analysis as well as through build, commissioning and trials support.
