Lurssen has given a technical launch to their latest hull, a 98m/322ft superyacht designed for a repeat American client and known as PROJECT MAUI.

London-based Harrison Eidsgaard worked on the exterior design – the first superyacht for the studio – incorporating the amenities of a 12-meter large swimming pool and a helicopter stored in the bow. The interior will also contain an extensive dive center and a dedicated spa. PROJECT MAUI will have world-wide cruising capability, suggesting she may become an expedition yacht. As the yacht is a highly-secretive project, her images are not available at this stage.
The first images of her on the water show a steel hull with a wide beam joined to an aluminum superstructure. Cut-out sections in the hull suggest a side-loading tender garage to leave room in the stern for a beach club, while other sections indicate fold-down balconies to increase the outdoor space available for guests on board while at anchor. Inside, the onboard accommodation will sleep up to 20 guests across ten guest cabins.
The Lurssen shipyard is currently working on two other superyachts: 135m PROJECT THUNDER with a completion date of 2018, and 139m PROJECT REDWOOD, due for launch the following year.
