Here are some photo images sent in of the amazing Dubois designed Alloy Yachts built 58.4 metre super sailing yacht KOKOMO III, which is chartering in the Marlborough Sounds, in the South Island of New Zealand. Superyacht KOKOMO III was launched by alloy Yachts of Auckland last year in 2010 making here the largest sailing yacht to be built and launched in New Zealand. The superyacht has a few firsts including the first submarine anchor system by Mason – you can see from the photos of the yacht here at anchor that there is no sign of an on deck anchoring system or chain.

This flybridge sloop is currently one of the most desirable sailing yachts in the world and features a large sundeck fly bridge and deck saloon area underneath. She is a powerful sailing yacht with a relatively long waterline length, tall mast and modest weigh to power ratio. Her elegant exterior styling is echoed inside with a rich art filled interior.
Kokomo is similar in size and age to the Royal Huisman built Dubois designed sailing yacht Twizzle, also a charter yacht, however the two boats differ is some key aspects. While S/Y Kokomo III has a simple superstructure design and rig, Twizzle has an indoor bridge deck and a ketch rig format. Also, the later yacht has a shallow draft potential with a retractable dagger board keel, as does Kokomo which has risible ballast keel. Both yachts are designed for world cruising with a minimum of fuss and they represent the best in yacht building from the Netherlands and New Zealand and are expected to win awards at the 2011 World Superyacht Awards.
