Luxury sailing yachts EOS and ATHENA will undergo a refit at Huisfit, the Royal Huisman division dedicated to repairing, maintaining and refurbishing superyachts.

EOS – Lurssen sailing yacht

The 93m/305ft three-masted schooner EOS from Lurssen and 90m/295ft three-masted schooner ATHENA from Royal Huisman are the world’s fourth and fifth largest sailing yachts respectively, and the former will be refitted at the deep-water Harlingen facility with a complete overhaul planned for her MTU 4000 series main engines and gensets as well as servicing for shaft lines, gearboxes, thrusters and stabilisers.

Constructed from aluminium and launched in 2006, S/Y EOS features naval architecture from Lurssen and interior styling from Bill Langan and Francois Catroux. Her accommodation sleeps a maximum of 16 guests over 8 cabins with a crew of 21 also on board.

Athena – Sailing yacht by Royal Huisman

The second three-masted aluminium schooner, ATHENA, was last refitted in 2014 and in comparison is designed to accommodate 10 guests in five cabins, although her crew is almost as large at 19. Having undertaken extensive transatlantic cruising, she will undergo a refit to bring her back into tip-top condition for sale. A hull repaint, full-service of the rigging and an overhaul of the engines and gensets are currently planned.

S/Y ATHENA recently arrived at the refit facility and S/Y EOS will follow near the end of summer for work to take place over the winter season.
