Yesterday, March 5, 2015 was marked by the transport of the world’s first hybrid superyacht – the 83,50-metre (273’11”) Feadship mega yacht Savannah (hull 686) – from the Feadship Aalsmeer Shipyard to Rotterdam for final completion. Inspired by the 2010 Feadship Future Concept Breathe yacht, motor yacht Savannah is a demonstration of the cost-effective and cleaner mode of propulsion that can be achieved within an entirely bespoke superyacht.

The brand new superyacht Savannah represents the first superyacht to feature an eco-friendly blend of single diesel engine, three gensets, batteries, propeller, azimuting thruster, as well as a streamlined hull shape. Thanks to her pioneering electro-mechanical propulsion platform, she offers fuel economies of thirty per cent.

In addition to her unique electro-mechanical propulsion platform, luxury yacht Savannah also boasts a floating superstructure, an underwater lounge, the ‘open’ aft deck areas, and much more besides. Accommodation is provided in a generous owner’s suite, a VIP stateroom with a balcony, as well as four large guest suites. The vessel has also unprecedented facilities for a numerous crew of 26 members and an exceptionally high-end tender bay finished in teak, with a hatch that doubles as a mooring platform.
