The regatta will feature previous winners superyacht Drumfire and sailing yacht Scorpione dei Mari, and the NTVE film crew will shoot part of their coverage from onboard the latter.

Another NTVE film crew will follow the yachts around the race course onboard a Scanner One 8 metre RIB completely equipped for capturing the most exciting footage.

A 60″ HD screen will be positioned in the regatta village showing fully edited footage from the days racing each evening during the dock parties. Also a  compilation of the regatta highlights will be shown at the prize giving evening being held again at the Es Baluard museum on Saturday 23rd, with its stunning views over the Bay of Palma. Editor of The Islander, Peter Franklin said; “Its a busy week coming up for us, as we are also filming excerpts from the Future of Superyachts Conference taking place in Palma on 19th and 20th. We have been media partners for every one of the six SY forums held here since 2007.”

“This year we are particularly proud to have invited the President of The Balearics, Sr. Jose Ramon Bauza to open the conference, which he has agree to do.”

“Of course we will be there to film that, and some of the other keynote presentations. These will include one by Martin Bellamy whose Salamanca Group are redeveloping the Port Vell marina in Barcelona City.

Peter added; “We are also planning to interview Martin on camera and get some of his thoughts on the future of yachting in Spain which will be exclusively for our viewers.”
