Yesterday, April 23, 2014, saw the Newport Exhibition Group announce that the Coast Guard Foundation has become its Official Charitable Partner for the 44th Annual Newport International Boat Show. A non-profit organization, the Coast Guard Foundation has been committed to inspiring leadership, learning, and a proud legacy of service to the U.S. by supporting the men and women of the United States Coast Guard.
As the show’s charitable partner, the Coast Guard Foundation will receive a portion of Sunday’s ticket sales, complimentary exhibit space at the event and the opportunity for its staff to educate and share information regarding their important mission.
“The Coast Guard Foundation does extremely important work supporting the men and women of the Coast Guard, and we are proud to have them as our charitable partner,” said Nancy Piffard, show director, Newport Exhibition Group. “This partnership gives us the opportunity to remind the thousands of people who attend our show of the Coast Guard’s selfless dedication to safety on the water as well as the Foundation’s dedication to the Coast Guard itself.”
The Coast Guard Foundation supports members and their families with higher education grants, financial relief and morale programs such as recreation and exercise facilities across the country. The Foundation has been providing these services for over 40 years. In the last 20 years alone the organization has given out more than $2.4 million to family members of Coast Guard men and women through its higher education scholarship program. The Foundation is proud of the members and reservists who risk their lives on the water every day for our safety, and pleased to help the families that provide support for these heroes from the home front.

Expected to draw tens of thousands to historic Newport, the Newport International Boat Show will take place September 11-14, 2014 on the Newport Waterfront along America’s Cup Avenue in Newport, Rhode Island. One of the largest in-water boat shows in the country and the kick-off to the boat show season, the event will host exhibitors from around the world with an exceptional assortment of boats of every type and style, and a wide variety of accessories, equipment, electronics, gear and services for boaters.
