Oceanco and ShowBoats Design Awards have joined forces by sponsoring the prestigious “Young Designer of the Year Award”. The award ceremony took place on 21st June, 2013 at the Monaco Opera House and will be presented by Boat International Media. The judges, represented by a group of industry professionals and yacht owners, voted Stefano Inglese as the winner amongst five other talented finalists with his Yacht Project “Granturismo”.

Hailing from Rome, Inglese is an advanced architectural design student at Uniroma University. The silhouette of the Granturismo sports cars inspired his high-performance hybrid yacht design. Inglese says, “The idea was to deliver the same feelings one has when traveling en plein air in a sports car.” He also adds, “the boat is made to communicate to the non-rational side of the human soul… placing human emotions and the joy of life in first place.”
Oceanco’s Fleet and Public Relations Manager, Paris Baloumis, went on stage at the Opera House to present the coveted award to Inglese. Oceanco places great importance in supporting the yachting industry by cultivating and encouraging new talent.
