Yesterday, May 21, 2014 saw the International Superyacht Society (ISS) announce that nominations for its 24th Annual Awards for Design and Leadership are now underway.
ISS Design Awards— which celebrate achievement in superyacht design and style—are for custom yachts 24’ meters and above (79’ +) completed between 1 May 2013 and 30 April 2014 and refits which have had extensive work that comprehensively changed the vessel esoterically. Concurrently, nominations are also open for individuals and companies for ISS’s Awards of Distinction which celebrate personal triumph from crew to the corporate office and for ocean stewardship.
Yacht Design Awards
Yacht nominations follow particular vessel registration protocol. Builders, designers and naval architects are encouraged to contact Vanessa Stuart, ISS Administrator, at +1 954.525.6625, [email protected] for information regarding vessel entry through ISS’s automated and secure site. Complete vessel descriptions—including design, styling and naval architectural considerations—as well as ample images depicting technologies, innovations and interior/exterior styling are required. Design award nominations must be completed by Friday 30 May 2014.
Awards of Distinction
For most ISS Award of Distinction categories—Business (Person) of the Year, Distinguished Crew Award, Excellence in Innovation and the Fabien Cousteau Blue Award—nominations come from yacht owners and the global superyacht industry. ISS Leadership Award nominees are made by ISS Board Members with judges consisting of previous recipients of the award. While nominations must be made prior to 29 August 2014 for all categories, the nomination process is currently underway and active. With countless notable individuals and projects for each category, ISS encourages nominations to be made now.
