Set to run at the Newport Yachting Center in downtown Newport, Rhode Island from June 22 to 25, the upcoming four-day Newport Charter Yacht Show will once again host a series of lively Crew Competitions. The competitions will be attended by teams of professionals, responsible for five-star hospitality and delicious cuisine aboard the event’s line-up of world-class charter yachts.

“Every yacht has a different personality, and this is highly dependent on the captain and crew,” said Winnie DeCoster (Newport, R.I.) of the Captain’s Concierge, which runs the culinary program. “The Crew Competitions allow the highly skilled professionals to showcase their talents, which in turn gives show attendees much more insight into the environment onboard participating yachts.”
The Newport Charter Yacht Show 2015 Crew Competitions will consist of four contests:
Monday, June 22, will see the highly skilled professionals create tasty hors d’oeuvres in the Sunset Canapé Challenge. Creativity and taste of crewmembers or chefs from yachts measuring 99 feet and under will be judged during this contest.

On Tuesday, June 23, yacht chefs from all participating yachts will showcase their culinary talents in the Best Charter Yacht Chef Competition. Participants will use the ingredients from a mystery basket and are supposed to be yacht chefs preparing delicious meals onboard their respective yacht for superyacht charters during the 2015 summer season.

Wednesday, June 24, will see crewmembers attend the Tablescaping Challenge. They will be tasked to create a beautiful and unique table display utilizing their respective yacht’s linen, china, tableware and decorative items. Later that day, the Healthy Beverage contest will also take place. During this, yachts’ crewmembers or chefs will prepare juices and smoothies to be judged based on the taste and nutritional value. There will be two classes of winners in both challenges: Premier (for crew onboard yachts 99 feet and under) and Grande (for crew onboard yachts 100 feet and over).

To involve even more crewmembers, the 2015 Newport Charter Yacht Show will feature additional activities, including the SeaHex Bullseye Challenge and a Pitch & Putt Golf Tournament.
