The 88-foot all-carbon Delta motor yacht 88 IPS has won the Motor Boat Award 2015. The prize was presented at a gala ceremony, which took place at the Landmark Hotel in London on the evening of 12 January.

Securing the Custom Yacht category for these prestigious awards, which are sponsored by Pantaenius and presented annually by Motor Boat & Yachting Magazine during the London Boat Show, the DELTA Yacht is one of only nine award recipients selected from a pool of five finalists in each category. The finalists are judged by a jury of journalists from Motor Boat & Yachting and Motor Boats Monthly magazines on their merits in terms of seaworthiness, performance and deck space as well as glamour, design and innovation. It is not the first time the Swedish builder has been honored with such an award; the all carbon fiber DELTA 54 IPS was presented the same title in the Sports Cruiser over 45ft category in 2013.
Introduced in 2013, the all carbon fiber DELTA Yacht 88 IPS represents the builder’s entrance into the megayacht arena. Designed by Lars Modin, the DELTA Yacht has been purpose-built for luxury, comfortable cruising and fuel efficiency. Three Volvo IPS 1200s power this 80ft hull to a spritely 39-knot top speed. The Volvo IPS system features joystick control that allows for superb maneuverability and effortless owner/operator handling. Sea trials have shown fuel consumption that is up to 40% less than that of comparable sized yachts.
Completed to an owner’s specifications, the DELTA Yacht features a world-class Scandinavian designed interior that is highlighted by exceptional visibility, high-end finishes and generous storage. Designed for owner/operators or to run with a small professional crew, the DELTA Yacht features a full-beam king size master suite, a VIP and two twin cabins along with accommodations for two crewmembers. Large, versatile cockpit and exterior deck areas easily facilitate any on-the-water activity, from fishing and diving to swimming and sunning.
