By disseminating this leaflet, Marina Ibiza aims to raise its clients’ awareness of the importance of using boats and the recreational sailing facilities sustainably to protect Ibiza’s flora and fauna. The tips are geared towards making big energy savings and using water efficiently, and preventing polluting waste from leaking out by conducting periodic maintenance of boats.
While sailing, Marina Ibiza advocates respecting marine flora and fauna by not anchoring in protected areas and cruising at a moderate speed to save fuel and reduce levels of pollution. In addition, the marina recommends paying special attention when sailing through Formentera’s Natural Park of Ses Salines, whose unspoilt, crystal-clear seawater provides the essential conditions in which posidonia meadows are able to flourish.
