Turkish ship builders Mengi Yay are currently constructing a 44m/143ft superyacht, known as PROJECT VIRTUS.

Project Virtus – main

The steel hull is nearing completion and work has commenced on the aluminium superstructure. Her naval architecture comes from Ginton Naval Architects and interior and exterior design from Italy-based VYD. As work continues, Mengi Yay have released renderings of what she will look like once completed.

The sturdy, angular appearance is reminiscent of military styling, further enhanced by square portholes and a gunmetal grey hull. As well as a generously proportioned main and upper deck aft, there is a spacious socialising area on the bow that is fitted with sunpads and a Jacuzzi.

There is another Jacuzzi on the sundeck forward and behind there is a shaded alfresco dining area and lounge to provide for all-day outdoor relaxation.

“Virtus is the product of a strong and elegant design approach, with a sleek profile and innovative technology,” says Paolo Dose of VYD. “These strong and pure lines are what make Virtus special, coupled with the fantastic experience of Mengi Yay.”

The accommodation contains one Master suite and four guest cabins. A pair of CAT engines produces a cruising speed if 12 knots and a top speed of 15 knots.
