Johnson Yachts has announced the successful launch of the JOHNSON 112 MITAN yacht in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The largest yacht launched by the shipyard to date, this flagship superyacht will now undergo sea trials before her expected delivery in January 2018.

Sold to an American client in May 2017, the JOHNSON 112 is built with a GRP hull and superstructure with naval architecture completed by the shipyard while Dixon Yacht Design completed her exterior styling. She has a maximum beam of 7.2m/23.6ft and a draft of 1.86m/6.1ft for a closer approach to sheltered bays and the best fishing spots.
The exterior recreational areas include a big sundeck with tenders stored on the aft and unloaded and retrieved using a davit crane, while the central section has a hardtop bimini for shade. On the main deck, the shaded aft cockpit is ideal for alfresco dining and the layout leaves plenty of room for sport fishing before the aft bathing platform.
Up to 12 guests are accommodated across six staterooms, which include a Master suite on the main deck, 1 VIP stateroom, 1 double cabin and 2 twin cabins. The crew area sleeps 4 over 2 cabins. Twin 1,925hp Caterpillar engines provide power for a top speed of 23 knots.
Although the JOHNSON 112 currently claims the title of flagship for Johnson Yachts, there are plans to build an even larger superyacht at 35m/115ft, along with a new JOHNSON 70 skylounge hull.
