The International SeaKeepers Society will host its annual Founders Event on Thursday 31st October 2024 to honour outstanding leadership in marine conservation and recognise the DISCOVERY Yacht Fleet which has supported SeaKeepers programming throughout the year.
The evening, held in Fort Lauderdale, will celebrate award winners including 2024 SeaKeeper of the Year, Guy Harvey whose lifestyle brand brings the undersea world into everyday life through its merchandise offering which help benefit the marine conservation and education work of the Guy Harvey Foundation.
The NexGen award winner is Dr Shireen Rahimi from National Geographic, an Iranian-American marine scientist whose photography, underwater film production and science communication tells stories that encourage action around the current world climate crisis.
The DISCOVERY Yacht Fleet is a group of vessels which have supported SeaKeepers initiatives around the world including Scientist-led expeditions, citizen science, educational outreach and community engagement.
Guests can look forward to a wonderful evening beginning with cocktails and dinner before the main awards ceremony.
