Hawk Yachts has unveiled its 48m/157ft expedition yacht concept, CAPE HAWK 690, ahead of Boot Düsseldorf.

Following the company’s design philosophy of challenging the current ‘accepted norms’ of the luxury yacht industry, the CAPE HAWK 690 is designed for year-round world cruising with minimal dependence on mainland support and aims to improve the return owners see for their investment.

The design uses a wide beam of 9m/30ft and an interior volume of 690 GT. The main deck forward contains a full-beam Master suite with two fold-down terraces, and the space can be converted into two VIP staterooms. Four en-suite cabins are located on the lower deck that can be converted from twins into doubles.

To the aft there is a folding swim platform and the beach club can instead be fitted with a gym, spa and 12-person sauna. On the main deck, guests can enter via the aft observation pod and use the glass corridor to pass the tenders and reach the lounge. To create a larger space for entertaining the tenders can be removed and the glass walls pushed back to open the space.

The salon is fitted with state-of-the-art technology to become a cosy cinema that can be turned into an outdoor cinema in warmer weather. Above, the sun terrace has a retractable bimini for summer and a firepit ensures that the area is still usable at colder locations and during the winter months. The hot tub is encircled by sunpads to make a relaxation area ideal after dining alfresco with refreshments from the forward bar.
Cape Hawk 690 capable of cruising anywhere in the world
The CAPE HAWK 690 has a range of 6,000 nautical miles. The advanced hull concept has already been tank tested at the Southampton Solent University and the first hull will go into production.
