Baltic Yachts have teamed up with Dykstra Naval Architects on the new superyacht project, the 39.6m/117ft ‘smart’ Custom Classic Sloop. The yacht will be built to a DNV GL unlimited worldwide charter code to be able to sail in various parts of the world. The construction will start in early autumn 2019 with launch and delivery expected in 2021.

She was designed as environmentally-friendly: fantastic efficiency is combined with minimized power consumption when cabins are unoccupied and airconditioning energy waste re-cycled to heat water. The electric propulsion system gets the power from a lithium-ion battery bank, which allows the yacht to cruise in silent mode for a long period of time.

The exterior features a straight stem, bowsprit, counter stern and deep bulwarks, as designed by Dykstra Naval Architects.

Accommodation layout includes a master suite forward and three double guest cabins. The crew quarters will have plenty of space for six professionals.

The interior is described as ‘light and contemporary’, according to Dutch designers deVosdeVries, while Michiel de Vos adds: “we will be using stained oak, dark bog oak trims and ‘industrial chic hardware’.”

Baltic Yachts’ CEO Henry Hawkins says: “We are delighted to be working with a new client who is both a keen yachtsman and is technically experienced. A great deal of pre-planning and engineering has gone into this project and we are enjoying working with the owner.”
