Construction update: Work continues on Canados Oceanic 140 motor yacht for 2020 delivery

Italian shipyard Canados Yachts has recommenced construction on the OCEANIC 140' FAST expedition yacht, which was initially built on speculation and stalled during the company takeover.

The OCEANIC 140′ FAST expedition yacht from Rome-based Canados Yachts has returned to production for a 2020 completion date. Built on speculation, the 43m/140ft superyacht was originally started in 2014 however the project was put on hold during the company’s takeover by current owner French entrepreneur Michel Karsenti.

The hull was already complete and the Kevlar/Aramat superstructure has been completed for the main deck. The flooring and bulkheads will be fitted in the next stage of construction, with the superstructure to be completed in its entirety by the end of Q1 2020.

The propulsion package is to be decided by a future owner, who will have the choice of long-range capability or greater speed over a shorter distance, with a maximum speed between 18 and 26 knots.

The OCEANIC 140′ FAST can be completed within 16 months of the contract being signed. Also in build is the OCEANIC 120′ FAST expedition yacht CAESAR, which is also due to be delivered in 2020.
