Construction commences on Long Island 78 motor catamaran from JFA Yachts

JFA Yachts has announced that construction has commenced on a new LONG ISLAND 78 motor catamaran, which will be constructed from aluminium and composite.

French shipyard JFA Yachts has started construction on a LONG ISLAND 78 motor catamaran to be built with an aluminium hull and composite superstructure to ensure a shallow draft.

Marc Lombard collaborated with the shipyard to create the exterior styling of the LONG ISLAND 78 motor yacht, while the interiors are the work of Franck Darnet Design.

The outside deck areas provide a shaded cockpit for relaxation and dining, a foredeck sunbathing area and an additional outdoor space above with the semi-enclosed flybridge. To the stern, there is a hydraulic platform for easy launch and storing the tender while cruising.

The accommodation and shared living areas use contrasting pale oak and a variety of dark wood. The main deck interior contains a forward navigation area, a galley, a dining area and a salon. The helm station is positioned forward on the flybridge for improved views.

In the port and starboard hulls, there is room for five en-suite cabins to sleep a maximum of 10 guests. The Master suite is placed in the port side hull along with another double cabin, while the other hull contains all three other guest cabins.

Twin engines producing 500 HP each will produce a cruising speed of 12 knots and a top speed of 15 knots.
