This confirmation has been received well in advance of the application date of the convention, and before the UK Government has passed the legislation. It is understood that Andrew Weir are one of the first management companies in the UK to receive such confirmations from the MCA.

Andrew Weir’s Managing Director Steve Corkhill commented “We have always prided ourselves on keeping ahead of all upcoming legislation. Our work with clients such as the UK Ministry of Defence and others dictate that we cannot allow ourselves to be complacent with these matters. This preparedness benefits all vessels under our management, both private and commercial”

Business Development Manager Daniel Taylor added “We would be pleased to assist any owner’s representatives or Captains concerned over the application of the MLC requirements. If that concern includes elements involving incumbent managers, this can be done on a confidential basis.”
