The complete list of nominees for the upcoming Asia Boating Awards 2011 has now been released, with some impressive surprises and the return of some industry stalwarts. The Asia Boating Awards, now in its seventh year, is the region’s most established and respected event of its kind. This year sees awards in 23 categories, recognising Asian builders and international brands, as well as Asian regattas, marinas and yacht designers working in Asia. The pioneering Asia Boating Awards was the first event to recognise the efforts and successes of Asian yacht builders.

Turkish superyacht builder Vicem Yachts, a leader in innovative and prestigious open and megayachts, continues its march towards excellence concentrating all production in their Antalya facilities on the Turkish south-east Mediterranean coast. This move is part of the new Vicem Yachts three year industrial plan started at the end of 2009.

RS Global (part of the Rolling Stock Group), with additional backing from investors including Palma Refit, are currently collaborating on the significant renovation project of the site formerly known as the “Grupo Guidet Building,” located within the STP shipyard. Peters & May, a leading global superyacht transportation provider has reported a significant growth in export volume for for both the UK & USA offices in the first three months of 2011. The company exported seven superyachts including 50m motor yacht Al Mirqab III and 40m yacht Garfield. In the same period the company transported 1164 yachts up to 30m and over 450 boats and yachts in March alone.
