This year´s 176th Australia Day Regatta starting tomorrow on Sydney Harbour will be presenting more than a century of Australian yacht design and construction as well as a near century of development by Sydney’s iconic 18-foot skiffs.
The Royal Southern Yacht Club celebrates its 175th Anniversary hosting the 175 Anniversary Open Regatta, supported by Mount Gay Rum, Piper-Heidsieck Champagne, Gaastra and Swarovski Optik.
The UK based ship repairer, Burgess Marine Ltd. offers its services, including both planned works and emergency support to Superyachts in the UK in 2012. Recently Burgess Marine has worked onboard the motor yacht Bystander, the sailing yacht Velsheda, the Hetairos superyacht, and the charter yacht Infinity as well as a 44m Feadship and a 64m Classic Motor Yacht.
The 2012 MOD70 European Tour has been launched at the Dusseldorf Boat Show, on Monday 23 January, with start on 29 August.
2012 will be a landmark year for the Italian shipyard, Wally Yachts. They are preparing to launch the first ever displacement motor yacht Wally//Ace, the first ever mega sailing yacht Wally//50m and two of the Wally’s newest and highest performing cruiser-racer sailing yachts, the Wally//Cento. Moreover, there will be the 2012 edition of the FT Wally Grand Prix Series, featuring 5 yacht regattas.
The 6th Extreme Sailing Series will be kicked off just in five weeks, starting on 28 February in Muscat, Oman as announced at the Dusseldorf Boat Show.
Visitors of this year´s NZ Millennium Cup will be able to enjoy close-up views of an impressive fleet of luxury superyachts during the race, held in February 16-18.
Entries are now officially open for the 2012 J.P. Morgan Asset Management Round the Island Race, with the first race start scheduled for 0700 on Saturday 30th June.
The 2012 Superyacht Challenge Antigua race starts on 27th January in one of the amazing Caribbean yacht charter destinations, the Nelson´s Dockyard in English Harbour Antigua.
The capital of Wales, Cardiff has won the bid to host the UK Extreme Sailing Series, held in August 24-27, 2012.
