Today’s windward/leeward race, marking the beginning of the Rolex Volcano Race 2012 has been won by Sir Peter Ogden’s 60ft sailing yacht Mini Maxi Jethou.
Day 5 of Race 11 saw another frustrating day for the Clipper 11-12 Round the World Yacht Race fleet, as the member crew continue their battle for victory.
With the participation of such spectacular vessels as the 100ft superyacht Y3K or the 112ft sailing yacht Nilaya, the Rolex Volcano Race officially kicks off on Sunday 20 May.

The unstable winds marked Day 4 of Race 11 in the Clipper 11-12 Round the World Yacht Race, as the 10 international fleet battled for victory. Giving up its victory in favor of Visit Finland, the Race 11 winner was Gold Coast Australia, followed by De Lage Landen.
The famous ‘Tropical Island Regatta’ held on amazing Samui Island will come back on May 26, lasting until June 2 and hosting more than 500 sailors, with participation of the largest vessel, the 90ft sailing yacht Genuine Risk.
The K&M Cup 2012 reported a huge success, with participation of 11 K&M yachts. The overall winner of this successful race has become the Bestevaer 56ST luxury yacht HannaH.
The overall winner on Day 1 of the Venice AC World Series has become the French Energy Team, followed by the Italian Luna Rossa Swordfish coming second and the Team Korea taking the third place.
As the Clipper 11-12 Round the World Yacht Race fleet starts sailing through the Windward Passage, the crew members put all their forces together to gain the vital additional points.
