The total number of 34 spectacular maxi yachts have kicked off the 23rd Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup today. These include the largest vessel to compete, the 66m megayacht Hetairos.
Silvertip superyacht, along with luxury yacht Janice of Wyoming and sailing yacht G50 are three splendid vessels, all designed by Dubois Naval Architects. They have already confirmed their participation at the next year’s NZ Millennium Cup, held in February.
The next edition of the RORC Caribbean 600 starts on 18 February 2013. Along with this year’s winner, the 215-foot superyacht Hetairos, the 2013 race will be attended by such spectacular vessels as the 180ft megayacht Adela or the 203ft luxury yacht Athos and many others.
The popular yacht regatta Audi Hamilton Island Race Week will celebrate its 30th anniversary next year. Taking place on the Hamilton Island owned by the Oatley family, the race is expected to attract more than 200 yachts in 2013.
ORACLE TEAM USA is expected to launch their first catamaran yacht AC72 this week. This spectacular vessel boasts a 130-foot wingsail and its first sail is scheduled for Friday.

The luxury sailing Esimit Europa 2 has smashed the 2003 record set by the Wally superyacht Nariida. Dubois designed 66m luxury yacht Aglaia will attempt to break it this September.
Measuring 30 meters in LOA, the luxury sailing yacht Esimit Europa 2 and her 18 crew have broken another record, following a huge success at the Giraglia Rolex Cup. Departing from Monaco, this spectacular sloop reached Porto Cervo in Sardinia in incredible 5 hours 11 minutes 17 seconds.
The overall winner of the 2012 Newport Bucket Regatta has become the 102ft sailing yacht Indio, designed by German Frers and built by Wally. She has also won in her Gazelles class, while Sejaa yacht took first place in the Mademoiselle class. The next year’s regatta will run from August 23 to 25.
The overall winner of the ACWS San Francisco has become ORACLE TEAM USA Coutts, followed by ORACLE TEAM USA Spithill and Artemis Racing White, respectively. The next ACWS race in San Francisco will run from October 2 to 7.
ORACLE TEAM USA Spithill keeps its leading position, gaining the total number of 61 points and taking first position in the leaderboard. The American team is followed by Energy Team and Team Korea, respectively.
Racing Day 3 of the ACWS San Francisco was marked by a collision caused by the ORACLE TEAM USA Coutts, bringing this team to 10th position in the leaderboard, while Team Korea reached 2nd place, following ORACLE TEAM USA Spithill.
