90th Anniversary Rolex Fastnet Race: 300 entries register in first 24 minutes

An amazing number of over 300 yachts registered for the 2015 Rolex Fastnet Race in first 24 minutes. The race will kick off on Sunday 16th August, starting from Cowes, Isle of Wight to Plymouth via the Fastnet Rock.

A great success of McConaghy-built yachts at 70th Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race

The recently concluded 70th Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race has been marked by a huge success of McConaghy-built vessels. Bob Oatley’s Reichel/Pugh 100 sailing yacht Wild Oats XI has won line honours for 8th time, while Farr 43 yacht Wild Rose has become the overall winner of the race on corrected time.

ORC SuperYacht (ORCsy) – A new superyacht handicapping rule

The all-new superyacht handicapping rule – the ORC SuperYacht (ORCsy) – has been created by the SuperYacht Racing Association, in partnership with the Offshore Racing Congress (ORC). The Yacht Club Costa Smeralda (YCCS), Bucket Regattas and Superyacht Cup Palma will use the ORCsy for their respective 2015 regattas.

The 70th Anniversary Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race has been won by two yachts with a shared history. Bob Oatley’s super yacht Wild Oats XI made history by claiming a record-breaking eighth line honours victory, while Oatley’s former boat, the 43-ft sailing yacht Wild Rose, secured her second overall victory in the race.
